This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

26074170This book leaves you with a lot of questions. I’m trying to figure out if that’s a good thing or not–how much is too much?

Something I really want to know is how this world functions. If Harker is in control of V-City (and V-City obviously has monsters) then what does the rest of the world look like? Is it the same?

Writing that out just gave me my answer.

I really love both Kate and August. Despite being human and monster, they were evenly matched in strength and stamina.

Kate was really a strong heroine. She got herself out of most situations. I think August helped her twice and that’s only because she would have died had he not. She’s very strong and troubled. And her hatred for monsters is her character flaw, but she overcame that in the end.

And then we have August. He’s so precious. And I say that a lot about characters, but he really is. He hates being who he is and by the end of the book, you can tell, he’s starting to accept himself. I can only imagine what happens in book two.

I strongly enjoyed this book, but I felt like it was missing something and I’m not sure what. Maybe it’s the world building. Most of my questions revolve around that. I’m hoping book two will give me some clarity on that (I preordered it last night).
